Hi! My name is Daniel and I run and develop ArmyCrafter.
I first got into warhammer as a young boy, at the time playing mainly Warhammer Fantasy Battles and collecting my beloved Wood Elves πͺ΅π§π».
Actually thinking about it playing is the wrong word. At that age I was mostly collecting, painting, building terrain and daydreaming about Warhammer. Once in a while I actually got a real game in :)
Eventually I stopped and took a 20+ year break from the hobby (like so many of us). I was sucked back in after watching some of the amazing painters on YouTube and originally thought I would get back just to painting but I'm enjoying the gaming aspect of it as well.
I now mostly play Warhammer 40k and am working on my Blood Ravens π©Έπ¦ββ¬.
By day I'm a software engineer so eventually my 2 passions intersected and I started developing this site.
I first had the idea to build ArmyCrafter after following some paint recipes and searching for alternative paints that I owned / were cheaper / were from a brand that I preferred.
I didn't find any great resources online for this so decided to build my own! I wanted to build an easy to use website that would catalogue all the paint alternatives for popular miniature brands and ranges.
After starting work on that (I'm still adding more ranges and paints) I also decided to build a platform were hobbyists can share paint recipes and tutorials in a centralised place. Usually hobbyists share these on Instagram, in comments, on YouTube etc. but it's sometimes hard to get back to a paint recipe or tutorial you liked.
I have more features in the pipeline as well as improving the existing ones so please keep checking back.
The site doesn't have any subscriptions, ads or Patreon. If you want to support what I'm doing please share the site, create or share tutorials and comment or vote on paints you like (or dislike).

Thank you!
