Red Gold is an
alcohol, gloss, layer, metallic paint from the
Vallejo
Liquid Metal
range.
- Alcohol - Alcohol-based paints use alcohol as a solvent instead of water, allowing for extremely smooth application, quick drying times, and excellent flow characteristics that make them ideal for airbrushes and fine detail work.
- Gloss - Gloss paints have a high-shine, glossy finish that gives a smooth and reflective appearance to the painted surface. They are ideal for painting metallic and reflective surfaces such as water, gems and eye lenses. A gloss finish also tends to be more durable than matte finishes and can be used to protect paint layers. It can make photographing miniatures more difficult due to its reflective nature.
- Layer - Layer paints are designed to be used after the basecoat, for layering up highlights and colors.
The thinner consistency allows painters to apply smooth layers without obscuring details.
- Metallic - Metallic paints contain real metallic pigments like copper, aluminum, bronze etc. for a realistic metallic finish.
The metal flakes reflect light just like real polished metal, unlike standard acrylics.
They generally dry with a satin/semi-gloss finish.
